Kelantanese Pair Recite Quran for Ceremony Opening

KOTA BHARU, 22 July – A qari and qariah recited holy verses of the Quran marking the beginning of the combined opening ceremony of Dakwah International Conference and Nadwah Ulamak (Asia Region) yesterday.
They are Muhammad Qayyim Nizar Sarimi, 19 from Ketereh and Nur Zulfatin Insyirah, 13 who is also the first runner up of National Qariah Competition 2017.
Nur was also the youngest participant in National Musabaqah Al Quran Competition organized by Ministry of Education Malaysia recently.
Interviewed by the media after her recitation yesterday, she admitted that she felt nervous in the beginning. Her anxiety she said, might have been because it is a very rare chance that a person is invited to recite the Quran in front of the Kelantan public.
She became involved in tilawah Al Quran four years ago. With her grandfather as her source of inspiration, Insyirah has managed to master few melodies such as Bayati, Hijaz, Nahwand and Sikah as young as 13.
“I started learning taranum when I was 6 dan successfully mastered it when I was 13. Besides my family, another important character who inspired me to who I am today are my Quran teachers, Ustaz Fauzi dan Ustaz Nordin who were both Qari of Kelantan years ago,” said the student of SMK Puteri Amalin Aisyah
With the theme of entertainment and culture, Pentas Muslimat received wide attention. Performances by students of PASTI, Fynn Jamal and others captivated audiences.
The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of Muslimat PAS Malaysia leaders, representatives of states, as well as volunteers of Ijtimak Kelantan 2017.
The opening ceremony began with the recitao from the winner of Kelantan State Tilawah Competition 2017, Nur Zulfatin Insyirah. Muhammad Qayyim, who read from a Braille copy of the Quran braille semasa then read his recitation. Qayyim who has limitation in sight moved the audiences with his recitation yesterday.
